    Primary School Rüti

    2019

In the town of Gstaad, Switzerland, an opportunity arises to build a new school building that brings the entire programme together within a single volume. The proposal strategically reorganises the functions: the sports halls, which are usually placed on the periphery, are brought to the centre, becoming the heart of the building. Around them are arranged the classrooms, workshops, and other teaching spaces.

Circulation areas are not merely corridors — they open visually onto the central core, promoting constant visual connections and fostering a strong sense of community among all users.

The broad, striking roof recalls the traditional houses of the region: generous volumes, timber structures, and an assertive presence in the alpine landscape. The scale may be larger, yes, but the intention remains the same: to shelter, to welcome, to bring together.

Everyone under the same roof — everything becomes simpler. And more human.
