    Rotunda Sul

    2022

On a long plot with two urban frontages in the city of Fátima, the project seeks to address a fundamental question: how to achieve maximum density while maintaining residential quality?

The morphology of the site raises contrasting hypotheses — a building at each end, or a single longitudinal volume? Fragmentation or continuity? Permeability or compactness?

These questions remain open. The project is still under development, exploring different siting strategies that balance the efficiency of the grid with the scale of the place, the relationship with the public realm, and the desired articulation between collective life and privacy.

More than a formal answer, this process is an enquiry into the way we inhabit the city — between fronts and backs, solids and voids — between possibilities.
