A continuous red wall defines the new boundary of the site and invites public reaction. The spiralling exterior staircase, with its animal-like geometry, shines like an artefact — a visible symbol of architecture at the Casa da Arquitectura.

The extension proposes a single-storey building, discreet and adaptable, where three spaces — auditorium, gallery, and support — can operate independently or as a unified whole. A large roof extends the existing building without overshadowing it, creating continuity and institutional cohesion.
