Hotel Paris
The renovation of Hotel Paris, in Marinha Grande, was based on the core premise of preserving the existing structure — respecting the building’s identity while adapting it to contemporary requirements of comfort and accessibility. The intervention aimed to retain the original construction elements as much as possible, minimising demolition and focusing efforts on the building’s functional upgrade.
Private en-suite bathrooms were added to all guest rooms, with slight adjustments to the internal layout to accommodate the new wet areas without compromising the load-bearing structure. A lift was installed, ensuring vertical accessibility to all floors, including access to the roof, now refurbished as a technical and support area.
The restaurant areas underwent a comprehensive reorganisation, including the redesign of service flows, the reconfiguration of dining spaces, and the updating of infrastructure to meet current regulations. New connections were created between corridors and communal areas, enabling clearer and more continuous circulation across the hotel’s different zones.
A new colour and material palette was also established, with finishes selected for their durability, resistance, and ease of maintenance — ensuring the longevity of the investment and the aesthetic coherence of the renovated ensemble.
