The project involves the transformation of a former two-level garage into a multifunctional housing device, combining creative workspaces with informal living areas. The pre-existing structure — a deep industrial volume with generous ceiling height and robust construction — is reinterpreted with minimal alterations, promoting its architectural value and preserving the material continuity of the site.
The main access is through the original garage door, retained as a defining feature. On the upper floor, at street level, a hybrid studio for photography and textiles is installed, taking advantage of lateral natural light and the spatial openness. The two levels are connected by an internal longitudinal ramp that runs through the central volume, organising the flow between work and living areas.
The lower floor, facing a rear patio, contains the living areas: a lounge, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom. These spaces have been designed to provide comfort using limited resources, preserving original materials wherever possible — exposed masonry walls, existing flooring, and visible metal structures — reinforcing the character of the pre-existing building.
At the heart of the space, a DJ booth has been integrated, conceived as the social and cultural core of the project. This functional element enables the hosting of events and parties, acting as a catalyst for sociability and personal expression. The result is more than a house: it is a flexible device where creative work, domestic life, and social engagement coexist within an adaptable, economical, and rapidly constructed system.
